End of Vacation

Back to work tomorrow. Bleh. No rain in days, so I had to dump water on the sad little wilted tomato plants, and watered a little dog too.

Yeah, it's amazing how playing in the hose brings out the puppy in a 9 year old dog with bad knees. He demanded his chance to play - pestered and pestered until I went out to water, and then pestered until I changed the setting to "jet" and let him chase it. He's contentedly worn out now.

Murphy: you are 'as mad as a two-bob watch' - stay that way as long as you can!!

NB "two bob" - pre-decimal currency (we changed in 1966) vernacular for two shillings.

Do I remember the 'delights' of long division in the far of days of pounds, shillings, and pence?

There used to be a silly ditty (only an oldie would remember)
"My Bob said to tell your Bob, that if your Bob doesn't give my Bob the bob your Bob owes my Bob, my Bob'll bob your bob!" The trick was to say it quickly.
