How did I miss the existence of Twist Collective? Actually, I see how - the first issue came out right after my mother died last fall, and I was somewhat preoccupied. I like it very much.
I saw UP on Saturday. It was lovely, a truly classic Disney pic - the kids laugh at the action and talking dogs ("Squirrel!") while the grownups are misty about the old man on his last big adventure, which leads to a whole new life. (Oh wait, was that a spoiler? Oops! See it anyway.) The theater was probably 75-80% grownups sans kids at the show we attended, and they all stayed until the "photo album" credits ended. I mean, NOBODY moved. It was amazing.
I have declared this my summer of kid movies - the trailer for G Force had the theater full of mostly grownups howling, and the animation/live action is of course perfect.
These distractions are so welcome, because the 8 to 5 thing is no fun at all.
I do have another baby thing to knit - no, not for a grandchild - and I don't know the baby's gender yet, so I must inquire whether the baby mama knows yet. The owner of the little sweater of a couple weeks back made her appearance on Sunday night, and yes, she's a nice normal sized 7 lb. newborn, not a linebacker like my daughter was (9 lbs., 4.25 oz.), so a newborn sweater will actually fit her.
And the dog is demanding a walk, so that's all, folks!
