I'm up at 5 on Saturday morning. This could be because I passed out on the couch at around 9 last night. (And no, excessive wine consumption was not the cause.) The work days are long, and I'm not getting enough exercise, and the combination is having a negative effect on my energy level. By the end of the week I felt truly wiped out, and sitting on the couch after dinner led to "closing my eyes," and next thing I knew,it was 4:45 a.m. and Murphy was squeaking an urgent need to relieve himself.
I need to find a way to get more exercise into my day. Starting next week, I'm bringing my walking shoes with me to the office. My boss said that when he started with the company last winter there was a group of corporate staff that walked at lunch, and I think it's time to re-start that program. It's not possible to do it in the summer, it's too godawful hot, but in the winter it's perfect. Even if I can't stir up a group. half an hour of walking in the sunshine will boost my energy to get through the afternoon. At least that's the theory, and it's worth trying.
Christmas will be here in a blink, and I have stuff to do! And though it still seems somewhat unreal, a new grandchild will be here a mere three weeks after Christmas. We don't know the gender of this one, at least not for sure, so Grandma hasn't launched on a frenzy of baby knitting quite yet. I do have a small afghan to assemble, and I need to get it done.
This weekend's missions, on top of the usual weekend chores: color hair (OMG do I have roots!) wrap gifts, plan Christmas menu and shop for the necessities I can buy ahead. And think. I've been thinking about what I want to do in 2015. 2014 was not a bad year at all, but I'm feeling on the cusp of more changes. It's time to get serious about planning my future.
