Merry Christmas Eve

It's here already! It's always the same: I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm...oh hell I forgot about...not READY!!

My company is open today, and there was no official announcement about closing early. We are off on Friday, which is very nice, but as every office we do business with has already announced that they are shutting down at noon, I'm not sure why we haven't done the same. My department is going to a Christmas lunch from which we do not plan to return to the office, and I am guessing many others will do the same.

It's going to be a rainy and stormy Christmas Eve. Yesterday we hit 80 degrees, and the A/C is running again. Tonight a front will pass through, and we are promised sunshine and 70 degrees tomorrow. Perfect for a little girl to try out her new bike and scooter! The bike is currently in my living room. Tonight my daughter and son-in-law will go to Nana's and Papa's (they open presents on Christmas Eve) and afterward, when Miss D is (we hope) sleeping, her mom will come fetch the bike and the helmet from here, so it will be under their tree in the morning. The adorable wee pink scooter Grandma got her will stay here, under my tree, and go home with them after the festivities at my house.

I need to tidy the house and cook some side dishes later, and may God have mercy on me, make one more stop at the store, because I need coffee and have nothing for dessert. Then, if I don't have it, we will have to do without.

My, the wind has really picked up out there! It's going to be a blustery day, and I need to get moving.
