My mission for this three day weekend: relaxation and self indulgence. Knitting, movies, happy hour with a friend, sit by the pool with a book and a cold beverage, play in the pool with Miss D. I'll do my nails tonight, and get my hair cut tomorrow. I am NOT going to think about work at all for three days. I need this weekend. My brain needs a break.
I'm actually reading books for pleasure lately, vs. listening to audiobooks while doing something else. This sitting down to read thing could catch on. I've found a new-to-me series: In the Bleak Midwinter: A Clare Fergusson and Russ Van Alstyne Mystery (Fergusson/Van Alstyne Mysteries Book 1) I very rarely say I can't put a book down, but last night I actually stayed up until midnight, reading until I fell asleep. I can't remember how I came across this author; did someone recommend it? Or did I just stumble across it in my Amazon browsing? I honestly don't know, but I know I'll be at the pool later, with my Kindle and iced tea in a insulated cup. I'm going to make the most of these three days!
