For Bess: Porch Cat.

This cat has very round eyes and always looks startled.

This also gives you a look at the very old indoor-outdoor carpet that covers the front and back balconies. It MUST GO this year. That carpet and the 1850s "workbench" were the two things that turned me off the most about this condo, and four years later, I'm finally getting around to it. (The appliances died and the carpet was hideous, so the other remodeling made living indoors (where I do live) a higher priority than the outdoor spaces I just walk past, shuddering.

It's a very pretty cat. I'm not the one who doesn't want a more permanent relationship. She was in her makeshift bed on the front balcony when I woke up this morning, but when I went to bring her some food, she'd vanished. She has a few homes and a fear of commitment. ;-)

We have a male version of Porch Kitty, who is also a gorgeous tuxedo cat. He has a bed in the shop and a cat door - which he uses - also into the shop. Took him 2 or 3 years to decide we were his people (or my husband is his person and i'll do in a pinch) and he would like to be an inside cat. Sadly, he picks fights with our 14 year old "top" cat, so he will continue to be an outside cat for the time being.

Porch Kitty is beautiful, and she'll come around in her own good time, i expect.

She came back later for breakfast, and hung around for seconds. I indulged her. Still won't let me touch her.

wow - that really is a pretty cat. We don't have cats but I always enjoy petting them and loving other people's cats.
